A new plan has increased the number of planned expressway network nationwide from the current 41 to 43.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam is soi keo ghanaexpected to have 43 expressways covering 9,234km by 2050, according to a new proposal made by Việt Nam Road Administration.
In the new road plans, from the 2021-30 period with a vision towards 2050, recently submitted by the administration to the Ministry of Transport, about 6,754km of expressways is set to be completed by 2030, the remainder (2,480km) will be finished after 2030.
The administration has proposed expanding Pháp Vân-Phú Thứ expressway section from eight to ten or twelve lanes, Bến Lức-Trung Lương section from six to ten or twelve lanes and the Cần Thơ-Cà Mau and Nội Bài-Bắc Ninh-Hạ Long sections from four to six lanes.
Those expressways, connecting Hà Nội, HCM City, Cần Thơ with other localities, need more capacity to match large traffic volumes and transportation demand. They are the growth poles of the dynamic regions in the northern, southern and the Mekong Delta regions, said the administration.
The administration also proposed two new expressways including Cà Mau-Đất Mũi Expressway covering 90km and having four lanes and the Quảng Ngãi-Kon Tum Expressway covering 136km with four lanes, with construction scheduled to be completed by 2030.
