HÀ NỘI — During 7am to 7pm on Saturday, due to typhoon Yagi, one person has been killed in Hà Nội, according to late night report from Hà Nội People's Committee.
The male victim was named C.M.C, born in 2002, from the northern province of Hưng Yên, who died from a fallen tree on Trần Duy Hưng Street, Cầu Giấy District.
Two others (in Nam Từ Liêm District and Hoàng Mai District) were also killed from fallen trees on Friday, due to the impacts of the typhoon even prior to its landfall on Saturday noon.
Three others were also injured in Ba Đình District.
Six motorbikes and 13 cars were damaged due to the storm.
In suburban areas, 47ha of rice, 26.5ha of other crops were flooded. Over 6,100ha of rice and 16ha of crops were damaged.
As of 7pm, over 2,400 trees were uprooted and fell over, in addition to 273 fallen branches.
Several houses' roofs were blown.
During the time the storm raged over Hà Nội, localised power outages, flooded streets, shaken high rise buildings were also reported.
